EF Stories: Pablo from Spain at EF Cambridge

I am the international CIO (Chief Information Officer) of Indra, a Spanish multinational with subsidiaries in over 40 countries. Mastering English is a crucial element in communicating with my colleagues from other countries, as well as with the suppliers we need to collaborate with.
EF Stories: Pablo from Spain at EF Cambridge

The first time I attended the school (February 2016), I approached it with some caution since taking a week off from work can be challenging, especially when it's not during a vacation period. However, apart from a couple of client calls, I was able to fully immerse myself and make the most of the immersion course, both inside and outside the school, as EF organizes various activities outside of school hours that make the immersion experience complete.

The second time I attended (July 2017), it was a different but equally interesting experience as I went during a vacation period and was able to arrange for my family to come along. So, the extracurricular immersion was in a different type of family activities.

In terms of academics, I believe the mix of individual and group classes is ideal because it allows for individual correction and learning, as well as the opportunity to work on group situations related to professional or social life (both within and outside the school).

People at my workplace often ask me why I speak so highly of the course and recommend it to everyone, and it's because I genuinely believe it's a very interesting experience. Cambridge is a beautiful city with plenty of activities to enjoy, both in summer and winter, and it's bustling with life, offering a wide range of cultural and sports events. All of this allows you to make the most of your days, making the process of learning English much more enjoyable and engaging. Additionally, you have London (and other English cities) just a stone's throw away, so you can extend your trip and visit, as I did the last time.

The organization by EF is also worth mentioning as it ensures you don't have to worry about a thing. The apartments where we stayed are excellent and very well-located, and the experienced teachers make everything there very straightforward.

For all these reasons, I will be repeating the experience next year.
